    Har-Ki-Dun is in the border district of Uttarkashi lying at an altitude 3506m. Har-Ki-Dun is a green valley, located at the base of the majestic Swargarohinipeak(6252m). It is also called 'The Valley of the Gods'. According to legends, Har-Ki-Dun is the point from where the Pandawas of Mahabharata transcended to 'Heaven'. The archaeologists here found the ancient 'Bhojpatras' that was used to write manuscripts thousands of years ago. Har-Ki-Dun has a number of temples and shrines that the people of ancient days prayed in olden days. It is an ideal place for research botanists, nature lovers, trekkers and bird watchers. In Har-ki-dun valley we can explore a lot about the GarhwalMountain.

    The view of the pine forest, deodar and conifer forests and other meadows from the Har-Ki-Dun is alluring. Har-Ki-Dun is an ideal place for photography lovers also. We can see the beautiful Himalayan wildlife during our trek in the valley.

  • Har-ki-Dun Trek Itenary

    Day 01: Drive Rishikesh to Sankari (275kms. Drive)
    Drive 275 kms from Rishikesh to Sankri/Saur through the Yamuna and Tons Valley. Trek to a tiny market in Sankri, a few wooden huts serve simple yet delicious food. Dinner and overnight stay in the camps.

    Day 02: Trek Sanakri to Taluka (1900m, 12 kms. Trek)
    Breakfast and trek 12km, with packed lunch, to Taluka (1900m) on an even surface through thick forests, with a few waterfalls on the way. Dinner and overnight stay at the camping site.

    Day 03: Trek Taluka – Osla (2559m, 13 kms. Trek) 4/5 hrs.
    Today we cross the Siyan Gad by bridge, further trail climbs to Dhatmir village. Later we cross the river towards right side of Tons river. The route is dotted with tea – shops and local Dhabas. Osla has very dense forests of Walnut, Chestnut, Willows and Chinars. Enroute visit the GhangoreVilalge& local temple. There are fairly 42 well populated village in the area of sanctuary, some are at height of 2900 mtrs. The people are living a primitive life and still in many ways depend of forest for many of their basic needs. The villagers worship the Kauravas and Duryodhana of Mahabharata is the main deity. The temples here have beautiful wood carvings. Dinner and overnight in camps.

    Day 04: Trek Osla – Har-Ki-Dun (3506m 14 kms. Trek) 5/6 hrs.
    Today after Osla we continue trek to Har Ki Dun. The trail and surroundings is extremely picturesque. Little steams crosses our path. As the trail climbs gradually through lush green terraced mountain fields and spotted with varied wild flowers, it shows the beauty of Enchanting Valley. Har Ki dun has a back drop of snowy mountain peaks. Enroute we will have a wonderful view towards East of Ruinsara Gad: Kalanag peak (6387 mtrs), (Bandar punch 6316 mtrs), Swargarohini (6252 mtrs), Juandar glacier towards North and dense forests. It is one of the most picturesque spot in the Garhwal Hills. That's why it's called DEV BHOOMI (valley of Gods).

    Day 05: Trek Har Ki Dun – Barasu Pass – Har Ki dun (6 +6 kms.)
    An ideal base for exploring the valley. Morning after breakfast trek ascend gradually towards Barasu Pass. Which divides Har Ki dun with Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh. We wind our way high above the valley to pass and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Later afternoon we retrace down to campsite.

    Day 06: Return Trek Har Ki Dun to Osla
    Breakfast and Trek back to Osla, with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Osla.

    Day07: Return Trek Osla to Taluka
    Breakfast and trek back to Taluka, with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Taluka.

    Day 08: ReturnTrekTaluka to Sankari
    Breakfast and trek back to Sankari, with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Sankari.

    DAY 09: Drive Sankari to Rishikesh<br/> Breakfast and drive back to Rishikesh. On arrival in Rishikesh trip concludes.
